Spain demands public apology from President Milei

The Spanish government called its ambassador in Buenos Aires for consultations to demand that the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, recant after the South American president said that Pedro Sánchez's wife is "corrupt."

The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, expressed that during the meeting with the diplomat he will highlight the "seriousness of the situation" and added that he will demand an apology from the Argentine president.

"Spain demands a public apology from Mr. Milei. If these apologies do not occur, we will take all the measures we believe are appropriate to defend our sovereignty and our dignity," Albares said previously.
